Hudson News Keeps Travelers Informed with DynaScan Technology
IRVINE, CA June 15, 2009 – Hudson News, the leading airport and transportation terminal news stand in North America, recently launched a new flagship store in the in Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The news stand, located in the American Airlines terminal, consists of a ‘DS0616’ indoor DynaScan 360 degree LED video display which has been integrated into a free-standing kiosk used to attract people into the store.
Design firm TranSystems used the shape of the display and external finishing to tie in the kiosk with the store’s interior decor. The circular shape of the DynaScan display is repeated inside the store with overlapping and intersecting circles throughout the floor. A three dimensional representation of the Chicago skyline above the kiosk connects it to the images inside the store depicting Chicago landmarks such as Millennium Park. Rosi Rawson, Master Professional of TranSystems, chose the DynaScan for its eye-catching characteristics. “We wanted to make a big design statement. We felt that the circular shape of the DynaScan would attract passengers to it, and in turn they would notice the store.”
The DynaScan display is used to keep travelers up to date with national news broadcasts and information. Video is viewable from nearly every angle, a feature that is unique to DynaScan’s patented 360 degree LED video technology
. This allows one screen to both engage inside the store while they shop, and attract potential customers outside the store as they pass by.
Feedback on the display has been positive. Speaking about the project, Rawson recognized the kiosk has been “very well received by everyone.” David Huang, Director of Business Development for DynaScan Technology, says “this impressive installation has created a lot of buzz. We are meeting people from all over the country who have been through O’Hare, talking about Hudson News’ new kiosk display.”
